You can have this 1988 Country Coach at a Winnebago price ! ! ! !
I am a small dealer in central Florida. Several years ago a bank I do business with repossessed this motor home when the engine blew and the owner didn't have the money to repair it. It was a Country Coach on a custom built Gillig chassis. I looked it over close and saw a lot of potential for a beautiful coach. I decided to buy it and fix it up for myself. I have been gradually doing upgrades on the coach for three years. I wanted a COUNTRY COACH for a Winnebago price.
Country Coach has long been known as the premier luxury coach manufacturer. See www countrycoach com/ for information about Country Coach. In the late 80's luxury coaches were getting bigger and bigger. The gas chassis was too light to handle the bigger coaches. That is why you saw so many coaches with tag axles. A tag axle is a band aid. The coach manufacturer is telling you that the chassis is too light and they are going to try to patch it up to get you out the door.
That is why the diesel motor homes came about. Gillig was the first major chassis manufacturer to build diesel chassis for the new large motor homes. The only problem was they were VERY expensive. In 1986 Gillig built their premier diesel chassis with a gas engine. It was expensive but less than the diesel. It included FULL AIR SUSPENSION (like the diesels), 228" wheel base, wheelbase/overhang ratio of 55%, #18,500 GVW in days when #14,000 was the standard. This chassis cost well over twice as much as the Ford or Chevy.
I have:
1. Replaced the engine with a Jasper remanufactured engine. NOT rebuilt. Check www jasperengines com/rmfg.html for information about remanufactured engines and about Jasper. The bill was around $4,000.
2. Done a total custom repaint of the exterior. About $2,000.
3. Replaced the carpet.
4. Reupholstered Sofa.
5. Checked and repaired appliances if necessary.
There are still a couple things to do: Dinette Chairs, swivel chair for living room, replace vanity sink and a few other small things.
The coach is equipped with:
Country Coach's finest cabinets in the RV industry
HWH leveling jacks
Zip Dee awning
Zip Dee window awnings
7 KW generator
2 Roof Airs
Drivers Door
Queen Bed
Ice Maker
Double Door refer
Aluminum Wheels
My plans have now changed. We will not be using a coach in the near future. I will sell this outstanding coach for only $25,000. Take advantage of my misfortune.
Nowhere can you come close to this quality with a new engine, custom paint, Gillig chassis, air suspension, Country Coach quality for only $25,000.
email me and I can send about 30 pictures or call 407-468-6549 with your questions.
